Lake In The Hills Celebrates 70th Anniversary Tuesday

Residents can stop out to village hall to take part in the celebration, which will be held Tuesday morning.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — Lake in the Hills residents are invited to take part in the village of Lake in the Hills 70th anniversary celebration Tuesday. The festivities will get underway at 9 a.m. at village hall, 600 Harvest Gate.

The celebration falls on the same day as "Giving Tuesday" and the village is encouraging residents to bring a non-perishable food item, which will be donated to the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Interfaith food Pantry.

There will be a "wall of history" on display at the celebration, and there will also be refreshments.

“We are excited to celebrate this milestone,” said Trevor Bosack, the village's director of Parks and Recreation. “The occasion offers an opportunity to appreciate the Village’s history and look forward to the future while supporting our community on Giving Tuesday.”

Lake in the Hills first became an incorporated village in 1952.

“The village has grown immensely since its incorporation seventy years ago,” said Village President Ray Bogdanowski. “We are eager to come together in celebration of this anniversary, give back to our community, and look ahead to a bright future.”
