Lake in the Hills Teen Selected for Air Force Academy
Jared Koch graduated from Marion Catholic High School in Woodstock last year.
A Lake in the Hills teen has been appointed to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., according to a press release from U.S. Rep. Don Manzullo, R-Ill.
Jared Koch — a former Marion Catholic High School student — will join the Air Force Academy in June, according to the news release.
He is currently attending the U.S. Air Force Preparatory School in Colorado.

Koch graduated from Marion in June 2011, was on the honor roll ever semester, was a mentor for incoming students and volunteered with the Key Club and Rotary Club, according to the news release.
He also received six varsity letters in wrestling, football and track and served as the captain of his football team his senior year, according to the news release. His teachers chose him as one of two students to receive the HOBY Leadership Award.
