Large Police Presence At Dollar Store Leads To Arrest

ALGONQUIN, IL — Authorities are urging people to avoid driving in the area of the Algonquin Dollar Tree at 1402 E. Algonquin Road.

There is currently a large police presence at the store, according to a post on the McHenry County Sheriff's Facebook page. Authorities say there is no threat to the public but urged everyone to avoid the area.

The McHenry County Sheriff's Office arrested a person on an outstanding arrest warrant, Ryan Markham, a deputy chief for the Algonquin Police Department, told Patch in an email response.

"There was a police operation in the area that was conducted by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department and involved them taking a subject into custody for an outstanding arrest warrant," Markham said.

No additional detail were immediately available.
