Come and see the talented performing arts students of Jacobs High in Legally Blonde, the musical! Based on the movie of the same name, the musical follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery, and scandal in pursuit of her dreams.
Elle Woods (played by Shannon Jameson) is the college sweetheart who doesn’t take no for an answer. So when her boyfriend, Warner (Chris Swanson) dumps her for someone SERIOUS, Vivienne Kensington (played by Stephanie Fiorentino), she heads across country for Harvard Law School to prove that being true to yourself never goes out of style. This action-packed musical explodes on the stage with memorable songs and dynamic dances. Equal parts hilarious and heart-warming this musical is so much fun it should be illegal! The cast also features Emily Kucek as Paulette and Adam Huckeby as Emmett.
“Legally Blonde” has music and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin, along with a book by Heather Hach. The story is based on the novel “Legally Blonde” by Amanda Brown and the 2001 film of the same name. The show opened in pre-Broadway tryouts in San Francisco and moved to Broadway in April 2007, where it was nominated for a number of Tony and Drama Desk Awards. The show ran for about 600 performances, has had two successful national tours and many regional productions. The Musical is Winner of 7 major awards including Best Musical 2011 (Olivier Awards) this all singing, all dancing romantic comedy is about knowing who you are and showing what you’ve got!
The show also has a strong production team and is directed by Rob Sharlow, educational director at the prestigious Stage door Manor. It is produced by Jake Stouffer with musical direction by Gregory Matushek, costume design by Sarah Weinstein and choreography by Jessica Lynn.
