Liquor Control Commission Orders Fine For Circle K
The Algonquin convenience store pleaded guilty and accepted a $1,000 fine from the commission during a hearing last week.

ALGONQUIN, IL — An Algonquin convenience store has been fined following a hearing on las week in connection with an ordinance dealing with the selling and delivery of alcohol to minors.
Representatives for the Circle K store located at 2 North Main St. pleaded guilty and accepted a $1,000 fine as well as administrative and court fees, Michael Kumbera, administrative assistant for the village, told Patch Monday. The business has also been ordered to have at least three servers attend a BASSET training with the Algonquin Police Department.
The liquor control commission hearing was held last week at the Ganek Municipal Center.

The hearing is based on complaints lodged against the business, which holds a liquor license, and has allegedly violated the parts of the local liquor control and licensing ordinances, the village said.
Any rulings regarding the suspension or revocation of a business’s liquor license are made by the Liquor Control Commission, Kumbera told Patch last week.
