LITH Looks At Revamping Parks, Recreation Department
The village board has also approved hiring a new director.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — Changes are in the works for the Lake in the Hills Parks and Recreation Department.
The Lake in the Hills Village Board last week gave village officials the go ahead to begin looking for a new director immediately and also reestablishing both the parks and recreation department and the director position, according to the Northwest Herald. The direction the department will take moving forward will be re-visited when the village creates its fiscal 2023 budget.
The newspaper is reporting that among the challenges the director hired for the position will face include minimum wage increases, little interest in seasonal jobs, aging playground equipment and anxiety from participants and staff regarding in-person programing due to COVID. There is also anticipated to be fewer programs offered and an increase in costs for trips, supplies and food.
