LITH Man Accused In Elgin Shooting

ELGIN, IL — A 21-year-old Lake in the Hills man faces aggravated battery charges following a shooting that occurred in Elgin last month, authorities said. Dru K. Jarvis, of the 1300 block of Cunat Court in Lake in the Hills, remains behind bars Wednesday on a $250,000 bail in connection with the Aug. 29 report of shots fired in Elgin, according to online jail records.

Authorities say they linked Jarvis to the crime during an investigation into a report of shots that were fired in the 300 block of South McClean Boulevard at about 9:40 p.m. on Aug. 29, according to a post on the Elgin Police Department Facebook page. A person was injured in the shooting and taken to the hospital.

An arrest warrant was issued for Jarvis' arrest on two counts of aggravated battery, a Class X felony; and aggravated battery, a Class 1 felony, according to Elgin police. Jarvis was taken into custody on Sept. 3 in the 1100 block of North McClean Boulevard in Elgin.

He appeared in bond court on Friday. He is next expected in court on Thursday, according to online jail records.
