Driver Faces Reckless Homicide Charge In DUI Crash That Killed Teen
Anthony S. Curtin, 19, faces several felony charges in connection with the September Lake in the Hills crash that killed Jacob Martinez.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — A 19-year-old Lake in the Hills man faces a reckless homicide charge for allegation he drove drunk and caused a crash that killed a passenger in his vehicle, Jacob Martinez, 19, also of Lake in the Hills, during a crash in September.
Anthony S. Curtin, 19, is also accused of driving a car more than 35 mph over the speed limit when the vehicle lost control and rolled several times while exiting Interstate 90 onto Route 47 at around 1:54 p.m. on Sept. 3, according to the Daily Herald. Martinez was ejected from the car and died.
Curtin has been charged with aggravated DUI - accident causing death, reckless homicide and five counts of aggravated DUI - accident causing death, according to online court records.

Martinez was a recent graduate of Jacobs High School and was working as an apprentice electricianwith Independent Electric Inc. in Wauconda at the time of his death, according to his obituary.
Curtin remains behind bars as of Thursday morning, according to authorities.
