LITH Police Plan National Night Out

This year's National Night Out will be held on August 10.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL– The Lake in the Hills Police Department will host its National Night Out Community Cookout on Saturday, August 10 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Irv Floress Safety Education Center, 1109 Crystal Lake Road. The event will include police station tours, a live K-9 demo presented by the McHenry County Sheriff's Office, and the chance to check out a Flight For Life helicopter up-close and see and touch various types of police and fire vehicles. Attendees can also visit with the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District, meet “PC” the Patrol Car Robot, try on a pair of fatal vision impairment goggles (i.e., drunk goggles), test out the police simunition trailer which contains non-lethal training marking cartridges, visit with our tactical bike and traffic units, meet members of the multi-jurisdictional SWAT team, and more.

The Lake in the Hills Police Department will also serve up free hotdogs.
