LITH to Replace Playground, Pier at Parks Before Summer
The village is also planning to replace a portion of the parking lot at Indian Trail Beach.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL -- The village of Lake in the Hills is prepping for the summer months with plans to soon replace playground equipment at one park, a fishing pier at Horner Park and the parking lot at one of its beaches. The 21-year-old playground equipment at LaBuy Park was removed earlier this month. A contractor hired by the village is now working to install a brand new playground, which is expected to be in place by Memorial Day, according to village officials.
Below is an artist rendering of the new playground:

The playground will be closed until the new play equipment is in place.

Work is expected to begin this week to replace a fishing pier at Horner Park, 359 Council Trail. The fishing pier is 21 years old. A contractor hired by the village is replacing it with "a high-density polyethylene modular pier that will require less maintenance than a wooden pier," according to an update from the village's public works department.
