LITH Woman Hospitalized in Accidental Shooting: Police
The shooting occurred over the weekend at a home on Plum Street in Lake in the Hills, police said.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL - A 26-year-old Lake in the Hills woman faces charges after she unintentionally shot her female partner over the weekend, police said. Alexandria Farrington, of the 400 block of Plum Street, is charged with reckless conduct and reckless discharge of a firearm, both Class 4 felonies, in connection with the early Saturday shooting. The 29-year-old woman was shot in the left shoulder
She was taken to Northwestern Medicine Hospital in Huntley where she was listed in stable condition, according to a news release from the Lake in the Hills Police Department.
The weapon, a black handgun, was located and recovered at the scene of the shooting in the 400 block of Plum Street in Lake in the Hills, police said.

Farrington, who possessed a valid FOID card, was arrested and transferred to the McHenry County Jail, Ashley Eccles, communications coordinator for the LITH Police Department, said. Farrington has since been released on bond, according to online jail records.
Following the incident, Lake in the Hills Police Department officials are reminding residents to always handle firearms in a safe manner.
