Local and National Leaders Endorse Raja for Congress

Leaders and organizations at the local and national level announced their endorsement of Raja Krishnamoorthi for Congress.

Today, leaders and organizations at the local and national level announced their endorsement of Raja Krishnamoorthi for Congress in Illinois’ 8th District.

Raja received his 12th and 13th endorsements from sitting members of Congress when Reps. Jared Polis (D-CO-2nd) and Judy Chu (D-CA-32nd) announced their support for Raja’s campaign.

In her endorsement, Rep. Judy Chu said, “Raja is running a strong campaign and is well positioned to represent Illinois’ 8th District in Congress. I know Raja will join me to fight for policies that help women and working families achieve economic security like paid parental leave and sick leave, access to affordable child care and an increased minimum wage.”

Rep. Jared Polis added, “As a fellow businessman and tech entrepreneur, Raja understands how the public and private sectors can work together to create jobs and keep American workers competitive in the new economy. Raja will fight for policies that support working families in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago and throughout the country. I proudly endorse Raja Krishnamoorthi for Congress in Illinois’ 8th District.”

Key local elected officials and organizations also endorsed Raja including Cook County Commissioner Bridget Gainer; Schaumburg Village Trustee Marge Connelly; DuPage Forest Preserve Commissioner Shannon Burns; DNC National Leadership Circle Chair Susan Berghoef; and the Indo-American Democratic Organization.

Last week, Raja earned support from the Illinois State Council of Machinists and the International Union of Elevator Constructors Local 2. Raja’s campaign continues to build momentum heading into the fall, as he has the support of over 100 leaders and organizations in Illinois’ 8th District and throughout the country.

Raja Krishnamoorthi currently serves as President of Sivananthan Labs and Episolar, Inc., small businesses that sell products in the national security and renewable energy industries. He is a co-founder of InSPIRE, a non-profit organization that provides training to Illinois students and veterans in solar technology, and was formerly Vice-Chairman of the Illinois Innovation Council, whose mission is to promote innovative technologies that support economic growth and job creation in Illinois. Raja resides in Schaumburg with his wife, Priya, and their two sons.
