Los Lobos comes to the Mac
Folk Latin Ballet meets Los Lobos for a lovely performance "Fiesta Mexico-Americana!" at the McAninch Arts Center.
Grammy Award-winners Los Lobos and stunning Ballet Folklorico Mexicano unite in this multi-media production of song, dance, music and film highlighting the many notable achievements and contributions of Mexican-Americans throughout US history. With a sound that is influenced by rock & roll, Tex-Mex, country, folk, R&B, blues and traditional Spanish and Mexican music, Los Lobos has accumulated multiple Grammys and been nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Carlos Moreno Samaniego, renowned for his unrelenting passion for researching, teaching, and performing the traditional dances of Mexico, founded the dance company Ballet Folklorico Mexicano in 1967. In 1980, the Mexican consulate in San Francisco named the Ballet Folklorico Mexicano the official ambassador for ongoing cultural activities with Mexico and the company has held this distinction for more than 20 years.
