ALGONQUIN, IL — A man wanted on a federal immigration warrant jumped into the Fox River while trying to flee conservation officers in Algonquin on March 31, authorities said.

Officers from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources made contact with the man, who authorities say was fishing without a valid license near the Algonquin Dam, and discovered he was wanted on an active warrant, according to the Lake & McHenry County Scanner.
