Tickets Now Available for Slide the City Event in Algonquin

Slide the City: Algonquin will take place on Aug. 15 and 16. The water slide is over 1,000-feet long.

A water slide the length of three football fields long will soon be coming to Algonquin as part of a Slide the City event and tickets are expected to sell out, the Northwest Herald reports.

Tickets are now available for Slide the City in Algonquin, which will be held on Aug. 15 and 16 and will feature a water slide over 1,000-square-feet long, live music, food, drinks. The event is described as “a family friendly slip-and-slide water party event,” according to the event website.

A variety of tickets are available on the event’s website.

The event will be held on North Main Street in Algonquin and will require the street to close for two days between West Algonquin Road and Cary-Algonquin Road, according to the Northwest Herald. The event is expected to draw 6,000 people, the newspaper reports.

Entrance for one day to the festival is $5 while VIP tickets include four drink tickets are selling for $20. The festival is currently offering early bird specials on slide tickets. Tickets for one slide are selling for $15 while event-goers can otherwise purchase an unlimited slide package for $50.

Those attending the event are encouraged to bring water buckets, floaties, and water guns, to squirt, spray, splash, and get all attending soaked, according to the event’s website.

Slide the City hosts events across the United States with plans to host five in Illinois this year. The Algonquin Slide the City is the only one planned for the suburbs this summer.
