DAVID HARPER SENTENCED TO FIVE YEARS IN THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR THE OFFENSE OF ROBBERY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that David O. Harper, 31, of McHenry, Illinois, was sentenced to five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections by Honorable Judge Robert Wilbrandt after pleading guilty to Robbery (Victim over 60), a Class 1 Felony. 

On May 26, 2021, Harper attempted to steal merchandise from Mariano’s in Crystal Lake. An employee of the store made efforts to stop Harper. Harper then pushed a shopping cart into the employee and pulled a knife out of his pocket. Harper escaped the Mariano’s parking lot but was detained nearby.

This case was investigated by the Crystal Lake Police Department. This case was prosecuted by Brian Miller of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.
