McHenry County Government: McHenry County Board Seeking Applications For Regional Planning Commission

WOODSTOCK, Ill. – The McHenry County Board is accepting applications from individuals wishing to serve on the Regional Planning Commission.

The commission will guide the drafting of the McHenry County 2050 Comprehensive Plan. Its nine voting members will be made up of county residents, with representatives from a number of other organizations acting as ex-officio members.
Applicants must live in McHenry County, and have a demonstrated interest in land use planning and policy-related issues. Appointees will also be selected to ensure that McHenry County’s geographic locations are represented to the greatest extent possible.

Interested persons have until Friday, Jan. 14 to fill out the standard application form, as well as a one-page supplement for Regional Planning Commission applicants. They can be found on the county website by clicking here. Applications also can be obtained at the County Board Office, Room 209, McHenry County Government Center, 667 Ware Road, Woodstock.
Completed forms can be emailed to Kathie Bough at KMBough@mchenrycountyil.gov, or mailed to the McHenry County Board, 2200 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock, IL 60098. If mailed, certified or registered mail is recommended.
The commission will begin meeting in April, at dates and times to be determined by members. It will be tasked with reviewing the 2030 Comprehensive Plan, reviewing land use and population trends, identifying any problems with the 2030 Comprehensive Plan and its 2030 and Beyond Update that need to be addressed, and recommending a draft 2050 Comprehensive Plan. The commission will submit a draft 2050 Comprehensive Plan to the County Board by March 31, 2023, or as soon as practical thereafter.
