McHenry County Government: McHenry County Board Seeking Applications For District 2 Vacancy

WOODSTOCK, Ill. – McHenry County Board Chairman Mike Buehler is seeking applications to fill the vacancy left by former District 2 member Jessica Phillips, who resigned Nov. 19 because she is moving out of the district.

The County Board declared the vacancy at its Dec. 21 meeting for the term, which expires Dec. 1, 2022.

Applicants must be Democratic, and must live in County Board District 2; a map of District 2 can be found by clicking here.

Interested applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. The application form can be found on the McHenry County Board Appointments portal, which can be found by clicking here, or can be obtained at the County Board Office, Room 209, McHenry County Government Center, 667 Ware Road, Woodstock.

Applicants can submit their application through the online portal, or by emailing it to Kathie Bough at KMBough@mchenrycountyil.gov, or by mailing it to the McHenry County Board, 2200 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock, IL 60098. If mailed, certified or registered mail is recommended.

The County Board with the Nov. 8, 2022 election will be reduced in size from 24 to 18 members and will be reapportioned into nine districts of two members each. The new map can be found on the County website at www.mchenrycountyil.gov by clicking on the button marked “County Board Reapportionment Plan.”

It is Chairman Buehler’s intent to submit a nominee for County Board approval within the 60-day requirement set by state law.
