PABLO NIEVES SENTENCED TO SIX YEARS IN THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR DELIVERY OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that Pablo Nieves, 59, of Chicago, Illinois, pled guilty Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a class 2 felony, before the Honorable Judge Robert A. Wilbrandt on November 23, 2021, and was sentenced to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

On December 4, 2020, a 36-year-old victim was found unresponsive after ingesting illegal narcotics. An investigation into the overdose death by the Crystal Lake Police Department revealed that the deceased’s girlfriend had received the illegal narcotics from Nieves, and she then shared them with the deceased.

The investigation was led by Detective Mattson and was prosecuted by Ken Hudson of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.
