ROBERTO CALIXTO-ESCOBAR GUILTY OF AGGRAVATED CRIMINAL SEXUAL ABUSE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that Roberto Calixto-Escobar, 24, of Lochbuie, Colorado, was convicted of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse on August 4, 2021, at the conclusion of a three-day jury trial. 

In 2019, Calixto-Escobar, using Snapchat, entered a romantic relationship with a thirteen-year-old Harvard, Illinois resident. In December of 2019, he traveled to the Harvard area for work, while continuing his relationship with the minor. On February 1, 2020, Calixto-Escobar traveled to the minor’s home and the two engaged in sexual intercourse.

This case was investigated by Julio Lara and Carmen Sacco of the Harvard Police Department. This case was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorneys Brian Miller and Sharyl Eisenstein of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.
