McHenry Police, School Staff Honored For Saving Student's Life
High school student collapsed during a recent gym class at the high school.

MCHENRY, IL — McHenry Community High School District 156 shared photos of a Monday evening board meeting where several school staff members and two officers were honored for recently saving a student's life. According to Facebook posts from the district and the McHenry Police Department, seven people quickly responded and took action when a student collapsed a couple weeks ago during PE class. According to the district and police, the group used AED equipment and CPR to save the student's life.
Those honored Monday are:
- Jake Guardalebene, school faculty
- Will Gaddy, school faculty
- Anna Centella, school faculty
- Nurse Amanda Franz
- Security staff member Tom Henn
- MPD Officer Sam Shafer
- MPD Officer Jill Foley
