McHenry Police Warn Of Sealcoating Scam
Authorities said three to four scammers are targeting area residents.
MCHENRY, IL — The McHenry Police Department has received reports of a scam involving men offering sealcoating services but then never performing the services local residents have paid for, according to police.
According to a Tuesday post on the McHenry Police Department Facebook page, police said three to four male individuals have been targeting area residents. They reportedly drive a newer model, dark green, four-door truck, with a tank in the back.
Police said the scammers offer to complete seal coating work but, after being paid up front, do not complete the services.
