Motorcyclist Hospitalized After Serious Crash In Algonquin
Police initially reported a fatality before correcting the information and saying the motorcyclist was alive.
ALGONQUIN, IL — A motorcyclist was hospitalized after a crash involving serious injuries Monday afternoon in Algonquin.
The crash was reported around 5 p.m. near Compton Drive and Magenta Lane when a passerby found the motorcyclist in nearby bushes and called 911. Algonquin police initially reported the crash as fatal before later correcting the information and saying the person was still alive, Algonquin Police Sgt. Kory Koehler told the Lake & McHenry County Scanner.
The motorcyclist was taken to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital, and the circumstances of the crash remain under investigation, authorities said.

The roadway near the collision was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
