Motorcyclist Killed In 3-Vehicle Crash Near Huntley
A 41-year-old Elgin man was killed in the collision.
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A 41-year-old motorcyclist was killer in a three-vehicle crash in unincorporated Huntley Saturday morning.
The collision happened at about 9:30 a.m. when a 2008 Mini Cooper S, driven by a 17-year-old, was headed south on Route 47 at Conley Road and was stopped at a stop sign. A 2015 Subaru Forester, also headed south on Route 47, failed to stop and collided into the back of the Mini Cooper, according to a news release from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
This caused the Mini Cooper to spin into a 1997 Kawasaki VN800, which was northbound on Route 47, and the motorcyclist was thrown from his motorcycle.

The driver of the Subaru, a 71-year-old Woodstock man; the motorcyclist; and the driver of the Mini Cooper were all transported by ambulance to Northwestern Hospital in Huntley.
The motorcyclist, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The drivers of the cars sustained minor injuries.
The investigation is ongoing and is being investigated by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Traffic Crash Investigation Unit and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
