Mulcahy's top priority as village president is to build the economic base of the village, according to a recent candidate bio submitted by Mulcahy.

"It is time to work with the county to develop a plan for improvements at Randall and Algonquin Roads that protects the businesses there," Mulcahy said in the candidate bio. "Maintaining the good working environment on the village board is also very important."

Mulcahy has been a leader within village government in Lake in the Hills for 16 years.

Mulcahy was first elected to the Lake in the Hills Village Board in 1997 and served on the board until 2001. He ran again in 1997 and has been on the village board ever since. He also served as the chairman of Lake in the Hills Planning and Zoning Commission from 2001 to 2007.

When it comes to development in the village, Mulcahy said Lake in the Hills recently hired an Economic Development Coordinator to reach out to and network with land owners, developers and retail businesses to establish relationships and make those people aware of what the village has to offer.

"We also approved an incentive plan for larger businesses to help entice them to come to our community," Mulchay said in his candidate bio. "Businesses looking for new locations have many options.  We want to be first on their list."
