Musical performance "Close to You, Music of the Carpenters" at the McAninch Arts Center

The Carpenters come to the MAC on March 18th and 19th

“Close to You, The Music of the Carpenters” featuring Lisa Rock, backed by a six-piece band including Amy Malouf, Justin Boller, Eric Engelson, David Orliz, Micky York and Ken McMullen comes to the McAninch Arts Center ‘s Club MAC. Considered one of the best vocalists of all time, the Karen Carpenter, with her brother Richard, captured the attention of a generation with their unabashedly catchy pop music. Their beautiful, memorable love songs topped the Billboard charts in the 70s with more than a dozen number one hits including “We’ve Only Just Begun,” “Rainy Days and Mondays,” Spot-on renditions of these songs will be interspersed with anecdotes about the Carpenters and the back story on how some of the songs originated.

The Carpenters will be performing Friday, March 18 and Saturday, March 19 at 8 PM.
