No Injuries Reported in Algonquin House Fire

The cause of the blaze at 579 Flora Drive remains under investigation.

No one was injured and an Algonquin home only sustained minor damage following a blaze Saturday morning, fire officials said.

Fire crews were called to the scene of the fire at at 579 Flora Drive at 6:52 a.m. The fire department was notified by an alert neighbor who saw fire and smoke coming from the home, according to a news release.

When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from the rear of the two-story home. All residents of the home were able to safely get out before fire crews arrived at the scene, fire officials said.

Since the fire call came in during a shift change, the fire department personnel response was almost double that of a regular call. This lead to “a quick fire attack that limited damage to the home,” according to a news release from the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District.

The fire was confirmed extinguished at 7:10 a.m. Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Investigators remained on the scene to investigate the cause and origin of the fire.

The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was assisted by the following agencies; Algonquin Police, Crystal Lake Fire Department, Carpentersville Fire Department, Cary Fire Protection District, and Fox River Grove Fire Protection District.
