Over 100 Tickets Issued During July 4th Detail In McHenry Co.

The sheriff's office took part in the mobilization, which is paid for by federal traffic safety funds and IDOT.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — The McHenry County Sheriff's Office handed out more than 100 traffic tickets during a recent Fourth of July traffic detail.

Deputies also made two drunken driving arrests and took six people into custody for driving while their license was suspended or revoked. In addition, three people were arrested for not having a valid driver's license and another person was arrested on a warrant, according to a news release from the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office issued two seatbelt/child restraint device citations, 98 speeding tickets and cited 21 people for not have insurance.

This law enforcement mobilization was funded by federal traffic safety funds through the Illinois
Department of Transportation and is part of the nationwide “Click It or Ticket” and “Drive Sober
or Get Pulled Over” campaigns, according to the news release.
