Plan To Turn Algonquin Home Into Care Facility Nixed
The McHenry County Board opposed rezoning the property to allow for a facility where four to five residents would receive 24/7 care.

ALGONQUIN, IL — The McHenry County Board has voted down a proposal to rezone a residential home to allow it to be used as a residential care facility for four to five residents in Algonquin.
The home is located on a half-acre parcel in a neighborhood that is near the Fox River, has narrow streets and has no curbs or sidewalks, which county board members said posed safety concerns, according to the Shaw Media Network article. Officials and neighbors raised concerns over an increase in traffic from the number of people visiting the home for personal reasons and to provide medical care for the residents who need 24/7 care.
The McHenry County Board unanimously voted down the proposal.
