Playground Renovations Underway at 3 Lake in the Hills Parks
New playground equipment will be installed as part of the Play On! grant program

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL - New playground equipment is being installed at three Lake in the Hills parks. Beginning on May 30, old playground equipment will be removed at Leroy Guy Park, 201 Lakewood Road, and Normandy Park, 680 Normandy Lane, and those playgrounds will be closed. In addition, a portion of Cattail Park, 4402 Albrecht Road, will be cordoned off where two new pieces of equipment will be added to the playground, according to a news release from the Lake in the Hills Parks and Recreation Department.
The existing equipment at Leroy Guy and Normandy playgrounds will be donated to Kids Around the World -- an Illinois not-for-profit corporation that removes and rebuilds playgrounds for children in underprivileged locations all around the world.
New playground equipment will be installed as part of the Play On! grant program which promotes higher
levels of physical activity by creating healthy bodies through active play. The village of Lake in
the Hills received a grant and has been selected as a “Play On” national demonstration site.
