Raja Krishnamoorthi Reinforces Support of Planned Parenthood.

Raja Krishnamoorthi, the Democrat favored to succeed Rep. Tammy Duckworth in Illinois’ 8th District, released the following statement regarding the House GOP vote to defund Planned Parenthood:
“House Republicans must stop gambling with the lives of millions of Americans in their misguided attempt to defund Planned Parenthood and pass a clean funding bill to avoid another disastrous government shutdown,” Raja said.
“I stand with Planned Parenthood and proudly support its mission to provide health care and family planning services to millions of American women. Planned Parenthood delivers vital preventative care, including birth control and cancer screenings for 2.7 million patients every year. In Congress, I would fight to expand this crucial lifeline and defend against attempts to eliminate it.”

“Another government shutdown would have disastrous consequences for the constituents of Illinois’ 8th District in the northwest Chicago suburbs and all Americans. It would cause billions of dollars of economic loss, slow job creation and negatively impact millions of working families.”
