SEX OFFENDER MAP: Homes to Watch in Algonquin, LITH This Halloween
Algonquin and Lake in the Hills have a combined 30 registered sex offenders living in the community. Find out where.

Algonquin and Lake in the Hills have a combined 30 registered sex offenders listed on the Illinois Sex Offender Registry.
Eleven of Lake in the Hills’s 13 registered sex offenders are designated sexual predators.

Algonquin has 17 registered sex offenders, including 11 sexual predators. Two are in jail, including Steve M. Jarosz, 56, who is serving time in the Illinois Department of Corrections for aggravated criminal sexual abuse with a victim under age 18, according to state records.
Algonquin resident Thomas W. Bagley, 45, is also behind bars at the Illinois Department of Corrections. Bagley was convicted of aggravated criminal sexual abuse causing bodily harm and violating the sex offender registration act. According to state records, he was 23 and his victim was 16 at the time of the offense.

Sex predators are required to register with the state for the rest of their lives. Some of the sex crimes that lands a person on the sex predator list include such offenses child pornogrpahy, unlawful restraint, keeping a place of juvenile prostitution and juvenile pimping. Registered sex offenders are prohibited from passing out candy on Halloween. They may not appear in a Halloween costume or other child-centered holiday character, such as Santa or the Easter Bunny, in public. Registered sex offenders, however, may wear a Halloween costume in their home, according to the Illinois Sex Offender Registry.
Pins on the map represent addresses of offenders convicted of sex crimes. Roll your cursor over the pins, and you will see more information pop up, including the registered sex offender’s name, address, current age, convictions, and the age of the offender and victim at the time of the offense.
You may want to avoid trick or treating at these houses and apartments on Halloween, or merely be aware of who’s living in your neighborhood during the rest of the year.
