LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — A supplier has agreed to pay more than $330,000 to the Village of Lake in the Hills after a fuel mishap caused damage to more than two dozen municipal vehicles, according to officials.

The incident resulted in widespread damage to village-owned fleet vehicles and equipment, prompting an investigation into the cause and extent of the losses, according to the Lake & McHenry County Scanner. Village officials said the agreement resolves claims related to the costly fuel issue without further litigation.
