Teen Crashes Car Into Home Under Construction: Officials

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — No serious injuries were reported when a teen crashed her car into a home that was under construction in Marengo this past week, fire officials said.

The collision happened at about 3:20 p.m. on Tuesday in the 900 block of Partridge Circle in Marengo, according to a news release from the Marengo Fire Rescue District. When crews arrived, they found a single vehicle that had crashed into the garage of a one-story duplex, causing moderate structural damage.

The house was under construction and unoccupied at the time, fire officials said.

The driver and a passenger, who were both female teens, were evaluated by paramedics at the scene. One of the teens reported a minor hand injury, according to the news release. Both teens were released and did not require a hospital transport.

Marengo Police Sgt. Andrew Kjellgren said the driver was cited for the crash.
