Trick-or-Treat Hours Set for Algonquin, LITH

Village-wide trick-or-treating will be held on Halloween in both towns.

It’s almost that time of year again.

Halloween is right around the corner and the Algonquin has set this year’s recommended hours for trick-or-treating for 3 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31. Meanwhile, the village of Lake in the Hills has set its trick-or-treat hours for 2 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 31.

In addition, Lake in the Hills will host its annual Safety Town trick-or-treat event from 3 to 6 p.m. at the LITH Police Department, 1109 Crystal Lake Road. In Algonquin, the Algonquin Commons will host a Boo Party from noon to 3 p.m. with trick-or-treating at participating businesses held from 1 to 3 p.m. Visit the Algonquin Commons website for more information.

  • Travel in groups or go with a parent.
  • Wear something that lights up such as a glow necklace or reflective tape, or use a flashlight.
  • Only go to well-lit houses.
  • Always go to the front door.
  • Do not approach strange vehicles for any reason.

Tips for Parents:

  • Parents should always inspect candy before it’s eaten.
  • If you cannot join your child, know your child’s trick-or-treat route.
  • Remember to turn a porch light on if you are home and will be handing out treats.
