Turtle Island Upgrades Underway In LITH

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — A renovation project is underway at Turtle Island in Lake in the Hills, village officials said. The location on Woods Creek Lake, which is a destination for fishing and a boat launch, closed in June as the renovations got underway, according to a weekly e-mail update from the Lake in the Hills Public Works Department.

The improvements include the addition of a pavilion and a fishing pier as well as shoreline restoration work, according to village officials. Last week, a brick path was put in and the village's contractor also began work on a new fishing pier and boat ramp.
