Update On Barrington Hills Structure Fire

On Friday, Dec. 13, the Algonquin Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was dispatched to a structure fire at 11365 Haegers Bend Road.

11365 Haegers Bend (Residential Structure Fire)

On Friday afternoon, December 13, 2019, at approximately 2:35 p.m. the Algonquin Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was dispatched to a structure fire at 11365 Haegers Bend Road, in Barrington Hills. Crews arrived on the scene at approximately 2:40 p.m. and were met with a fully involved vacant two story single family home. Due to heavy fire conditions and the home being located in an remote area without fire hydrants the alarm was upgraded to a second alarm. The fire was attacked from the exterior and water was shuttled in with the assistance of mutual aid fire departments. No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported. The fire was declared out at 6:27 p.m. Crews remained on the scene until 7:30 p.m. investigating the fire and searching for hot spots.

The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was aided by Crystal Lake Fire Department, Cary Fire Protection District, Carpentersville Fire Protection District, McHenry Fire Protection District, Fox River Grove Fire Protection District, Huntley Fire Protection District, Barrington- Countryside Fire Protection District, Barrington Fire Department, West Dundee Fire Department, East Dundee Fire Protection District, Rutland-Dundee Fire Protection District, Nunda Fire Protection District, Elgin Fire Department, Palatine Fire Department, Lake Zurich Fire Department, Pingree Grove Fire Protection District, and Marengo Fire Protection District..

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time damage, and an estimate on the damage is not yet available.
