The reinstatement of face coverings for employees comes as data from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and McHenry County Health Department (MCHD) shows increasing COVID-19 transmission; McHenry County is currently experiencing moderate transmission. View the MCHD COVID-19 Dashboard Here.
In addition, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently announced revised guidance (available via this link) regarding face coverings. The CDC now recommends that all people, regardless of vaccination status, wear a face covering in public indoor settings in counties with substantial or high transmission. The CDC’s map tracking transmission levels by county is available via this link. The IDPH’s guidelines for fully vaccinated people, which have been updated to reflect the CDC’s revised guidance, are available here.

McHenry County health officials expect to see the number of cases increase in the coming weeks as the Delta variant, which has a 70% transmission rate, has been identified in the county. Residents are urged to get vaccinated as community transmission increases. MCDH continues to vaccinate against COVID-19 at its Woodstock and Crystal Lake clinics on select days (https://bit.ly/3loRewY ). For additional vaccine locations, please visit www.vaccines.gov.
