The Village of Algonquin is seeking applicants for the position of Maintenance Worker I for the Internal Services Division of the Public Works Department.

HIRING SALARY: $43,584.74, per union contract
HOURS PER WEEK: 40+ hours per week. You will be required to have a flexible schedule (including nights and weekends) as you will be participating in a schedule as an on-call employee.

GENERAL DUTIES: In this role you will be performing building cleaning, basic maintenance services, responding to alarms, performing facility rounds, addressing employee building issues, assisting in snow and ice operations, and other duties related to maintaining Village-owned facilities. Must have working knowledge and experience with the equipment, materials, supplies, and procedures used to perform major and minor facility and equipment repair tasks. Must possess excellent carpentry, electrical, and HVAC system operation skills.
REQUIREMENTS: A high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented three (3) years progressive experience in the facilities maintenance and repair field, or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. A valid State of Illinois CDL Class “A” driver’s license, with air brake and tanker endorsements within six (6) months. Off hour, weekend and/or holiday shifts may be assigned by a supervisor. Candidate must have a flexible schedule for on-call assignments 24 hours a day 365 days a year unless scheduled days off.
