Where To Vote Early In Algonquin, Lake In The Hills
Find out where you can cast your ballot in McHenry County ahead of the Nov. 3 presidential election.
ALGONQUIN, LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — Residents in Algonquin and Lake in the Hills will be able to cast their ballots ahead of Election Day at several locations this fall. Starting on Sept. 24, McHenry County residents can complete their early voting at the clerk's office in Woodstock, 667 Ware Road.
The clerk's office will be open for early voting from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays. In addition, a drop box will be available at the clerk's office 24 hours a day.
Starting on Oct. 19, the following Algonquin and Lake in the Hills locations will open up for early voting:

Lake in the Hills Village Hall, 600 Harvest Gate in Lake in the Hills. The LITH Village Hall will also have a ballot drop box available during voting hours. Those hours are from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Oct. 19 through Oct. 23, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 24, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Oct. 26 through Oct. 30, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 31, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 1 and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 2.
Algonquin Public Library, 2600 Harnish Drive in Algonquin. Early voting will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 19 through Oct. 23, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 24, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 26 to Oct. 30 and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 31.

In addition, the following permanent locations will be available throughout McHenry County for early voting, and will also have drop boxes available for ballots during voting hours.
- The Dole Mansion, 401 Country Club Road in Crystal Lake.
- McHenry Township Office, 3703 N. Richmond Road in Johnsburg
- McHenry City Hall, 333 S. Green Street in McHenry
Hours of operation for the permanent locations will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Oct. 19 through Oct. 23, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 24, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Oct. 26 through Oct. 30, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 31, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 1 and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 2.
Also, the following early voting locations will have more limited hours:
Huntley Park District, 12015 Mill Street in Huntley. Early voting will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 19 through Oct. 23, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 24, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 26 to Oct. 30 and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 31.
Nunda Township Offices, 3510 Bay Road in Crystal Lake. Early voting will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 19 through Oct. 23, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 24, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 26 to Oct. 30 and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 31.
Cary Area Library, 1606 Three Oaks Road in Cary. Early voting will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 19 through Oct. 23, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 24, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 26 to Oct. 30 and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 31.
Dunham Township Office, 107 Airport Road in Harvard. Early voting will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 19 through Oct. 23, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 26 through Oct. 30 and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 31.
Marengo City Hall, 132 E. Prairie St. in Marengo. Early voting will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 19 through Oct. 23, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 26 through Oct. 30 and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 31.
Officials with clerk's offices across the Chicago area are encouraging residents to cast their ballot ahead of the Nov. 3 election due to continued concerns over the spread of COVID-19 and to avoid any crows on Election Day.
Officials are also encouraging residents to submit mail-in ballots. The drop boxes stationed throughout the county will be available for people to drop off their mail-in ballots. The drop boxes came amid increased concerns about how the U.S. Postal Service will handle an expected record number of mail-in ballots due to the coronavirus pandemic.
