Winter Camping Opens Dec. 1 At MCCD Campsite
You can make reservations now for winter camping opens within Thomas Woods at Marengo Ridge Conservation Area.

Cooler temperatures have you feeling cooped up and stuck indoors? Escape to the great outdoors for a night of camping! Take in the sights and sounds of the quiet, peaceful winter woods and sleep under crisp, star-filled skies. McHenry County Conservation District winter camping opens December 1st within Thomas Woods at Marengo Ridge Conservation Area, located at 2411 N. Route 23 in Marengo. Make your reservations now. Winter tent campers can enjoy camping and exploring over 3 miles of hiking and cross-country ski trails that wind through the oak and evergreen woodlands at Marengo Ridge. Eighteen individual sites will be available and can accommodate groups up to 10 people with a maximum of two tents per site.

Reservations are available on a first come, first served basis. Reserve your date(s) online at least five (5) working days in advance of your desired date in order to obtain the required permit and pay all associated fees.
