Young Eagles Rallies Scheduled For 2021 In Village Of Lake In The Hills

Flights are offered free of charge through the generosity of EAA member volunteers.

The Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 790, based at the Lake in the Hills Airport, offers free plane rides to children ages 8-17 through the Young Eagles program. Founded in 1992, the program introduces youth to the world of aviation and inspires future pilots. Flights are offered free of charge through the generosity of EAA member volunteers.

In 2021, children can enjoy free flights during the following Young Eagles rally dates (weather and current COVID-19 restrictions permitting):

Registration will be accepted at the Lake in the Hills Airport, located on 8397 Pyott Road, on the day of the events. A parent or legal guardian MUST be present at the event day in order to sign the registration form. A friend's parent's or other adult's signature is not enough! It must be an authorized signature.

Registration before the event day is not available. The Young Eagle flights will be offered on a first come, first served basis so be sure to arrive at or close to the event start time.

Each event will be held only if current weather conditions permit. You may check on the status of the rally by calling 224-484-7163 beginning on the Friday evening before the event date.

Participants and parents and guardians should wear comfortable shoes, sunscreen, and clothing that is appropriate for the weather that day. Also, be sure to bring water for you and your child as water won’t be available for participants. If your child has received a Young Eagle log book on a previous flight, please be sure to bring that as well.
