1 Dead, 1 Injured In Shooting At Villa Court Apartment Complex

The woman was dead on arrival after she and a man self-transported to Advocate Christ after both were shot in a parking lot in Alsip.

ALSIP, IL — A woman is dead and a man is in serious condition following a shooting Wednesday evening at an apartment complex in Alsip, police said.

While on patrol, Alsip police officers heard several gunshots around 10:35 near 115th Street and Pulaski Road. Multiple people called 911 reporting gunshots near the Villa Court apartment complex at 11509 S. Villa Court. Officers found at least 30 shell casings and broken glass in the parking lot, but no shooter or victims were to be found.

Police learned that a man and woman had self transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. The woman was dead on arrival, and the man was taken into surgery, where he is listed in serious condition.

The two were not Alsip residents, police said, who believe that the shooting was targeted. A dark-colored sedan was seen fleeing the scene westbound on 115th Street. Alsip police and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force are investigating.
