127th Bridge To Be Closed Several Months For 'Restrengthening'
The 127th Street bridge bordering Alsip and Crestwood will be closed for repairs starting March 4 through the summer.

ALSIP-CRESTWOOD, IL — IDOT has announced that the 127th Street bridge on the border of Alsip and Crestwood will be closed starting Monday, March 4, weather permitting.
The well-traveled bridge will be closed just east of the intersection of 127th Street and Cal Sag Road, a few blocks west of Cicero Road and the busy interchange of Cicero and 127th Street.
Work crews will be restrengthening the bridge from topside and underneath from a barge. This means that once again, traffic in the area will be restricted.
The $14.4 million project consists of replacing the bridge deck and concrete approaches, repairing structural steel and replacing steel beams, installing new lighting and painting. The existing multi-use path on the south side of the bridge will be widened and new guardrail will be installed.
