3 Nabbed In Burglary Spree, Cops End Chase With 'Stop Sticks': Police
Two men and a teen tied to burglaries that spanned DuPage and Cook counties, including Alsip and Downers Grove, police say.

ALSIP, IL — A burglary crew tied to a spree that spanned four suburbs in Cook and DuPage Counties was arrested after officers deployed a tire deflation device to disable the crew’s vehicle, Alsip police said. Gun charges are also pending.
Dominique Jones, 30, of Chicago, and Keonte Porter, 19, of Riverdale, were charged with burglary. A 17-year-old male was charged as a juvenile with burglary.
Around 3:15 a.m. Wednesday, Alsip police responded to a burglary alarm at Pro Cars, 5630 W. 120th St., where an officer spotted a broken front window. About five minutes later, while still at Pro Cars, another call came for a burglary in progress at the White Bear Liquor Store at 123rd Street and Cicero Avenue.

Alsip police saw four people leaving the store and getting into a white Audi. The officer activated his emergency lights, but lost sight of the fleeing car at 127th Street and Kedzie Avenue.
About an hour later, Villa Park police spotted the Audi, that fled when officers tried to pull the car over. Villa Park police deployed the stop sticks, flattening the car’s rear tires. The Audi was pursued to I-294 South. When the vehicle was no longer operational, police said three people got out of the car and started running.

The three were taken into custody through the combined efforts of Alsip, Midlothian, Country Club Hills, Markham and Posen police. The Audi had been reported stolen in Hodgkins. Officers found two pistols equipped with switches, an illegal feature that makes guns fully automatic, police said.

Porter, Jones and the teen were also tied to another burglary that happened earlier Wednesday morning in Downers Grove, according to police.
The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved felony burglary charges for Jones and Porter. The 17-year-old was turned over to the DuPage County Juvenile Division. Bond information is forthcoming.
