Alsip Emergency Crews Pull Body from Cal-Sag Channel
Cops say preliminary investigation reveals man may have jumped off bridge intentionally to commit suicide.

ALSIP, IL -- A deceased male who reportedly jumped into the Cal-Sag Channel was pulled from the water on Wednesday afternoon. The Alsip Police and Alsip Fire Departments were dispatched to the Cicero Avenue and 131st Street Bridge around 12:29 p.m.
Alsip fire crews conducted an underwater search with the assistance of other fire departments after receiving a call of a person in the water who did not resurface. A dive box was called.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the man had purposely jumped into the waters to commit suicide, Alsip police said in a news release. The identify of the deceased adult male is not being released at this time pending notification of family members.
