ALSIP, IL — Join the Alsip Police Department for snacks, train rides, classic car show, safety train, game trailer, DJ street entertainers, crime prevention information and K9 demonstrations for National Night Out, Tuesday, Aug. 3. The public safety event runs from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Mulberry Street, between Orchard and 44th Place.

Immediately following Alsip PD's National Night Out is a "dive in" pool party and movie from 8:15 to 10:15 p.m. at Sprayfari Aquatic Park, 11930 S. Kostner Ave. (Alsip residents only, proof of residency required.)

The Alsip Police Department will be providing giveaways, activities, and community service information. The Alsip Safety Express trackless safety train will be providing free rides to community youth in an effort to create train safety awareness.

NORCOMM-Superior Ambulance and the Alsip Police Department will be accepting applications on-site. Also, the Illinois Department of Public Health will be administering the single-dose Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine to the first 200 people at no cost.

Since 1984, police departments and communities across the United States have held National Night Out events on the first Tuesday in August. More than 38 million neighbors in 16,000 communities throughout the nation will participate in National Night Out promoting public safety and building community.
