ALSIP, IL — The Alsip Police Department is organizing a relief drive for the residents of western Kentucky affected by last week’s devastating tornadoes.

In what is shaping up to be a rare, December EF-5 tornado that tore over 200 miles across six states, with Kentucky getting the worst of it, many residents are left with only the clothes on their backs. The most recent Kentucky death count is 74, among them 12 children, and more than 100 are still reported missing. It will take months, if not years, for communities to rebuild and recover.

The final drop-off date is Dec. 21. Perhaps you overbought during the 2020 pandemic lockdown and have an abundance of hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes or toilet paper left over. Some folks in Kentucky can certainly use it.
