Alsip Police Surprise Quarantined Kids With Birthday Patrols

The Alsip Police Birthday Task Force will surprise kids ages 2 through 13 with a mini birthday parade April 8-30. Make a reservation today.

ALSIP, IL — When you’re a kid it’s hard to have a happy birthday when you’re on quarantine, especially when coronavirus cancels your birthday party. The Alsip Police Department have come up with the perfect gift idea for social distancing youngsters.

Starting April 8, the Alsip Police Birthday Task Force will surprise kids ages 2 through 13 with a mini birthday parade. Alsip’s finest will drive by the birthday boy or girl’s house with lights and sirens, letting neighbors know there is a birthday VIP on the block.

The birthday task force will be accepting reservations for drive-bys from April 8 through April 30. Drive-bys will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. To make a reservation, email rmerlo@villageofalsip.org. This program is limited to Alsip residents only.
