Just after 3 p.m. Crestwood police responded to a shots fired call in the area of 132nd Street and Cicero Avenue. Responding officers found the 35-year-old man in the parking lot of a tire shop.

During the investigation, Crestwood police determined the shooting to be an isolated incident with no risk to the public.

The drivers of two vehicles, a tow truck and a Buick Enclave, crashed near Cal-Sag Road and Cicero, police said. Both vehicles continued south on Cicero before turning onto the access road to Rivercrest Mall.

When both vehicles came to a stop in the parking lot of a tire shop, police said the tow truck driver pulled out a gun. The other driver, who has a valid concealed carry license, pulled out a gun and fired one shot, hitting the tow truck driver, police said.

The gravely wounded man was transported to the hospital where he later died from his injuries. The other driver is currently cooperating with the investigation.

Anyone who witnessed or has information about the incident is asked to contact detectives at the Crestwood Police Department at 708-371-4800.
